1. What categories of data does the product or service collect from me?

  • Agronomic Data

  • Land Data

  • Farm Management Data

  • Machine Data

Land Data:

These include data on soil, fertility, topography, elevation, watersheds, drainage, geospatial information, tillage and conservation.

Agronomic Data:

These include data on fields and crops, data on planting, types of seeds, yield, diseases, application of fertilizers and application of pest control products. It also includes feeding recommendations for farm animals.

Farm Management Data:

These include financial data, information on employees, commodity prices, regulatory and supply chain compliance and other management data.

Machine Data:

These include telematic data, data on the condition of the equipment, fuel consumption and loading, and data generated by the equipment used to raise livestock.

Other on the farm data:

The scope of AgConnexion can be further used for other information useful for farm management, such as data for livestock management (genealogy, genetics, yield, reproduction, mortality, animal nutrition and health) or other categories unique to your farm. All relevant information which will help the farmer produce and commercialize its products are withheld in our database and will be subject to a follow-up in the AgConnexion application.

2. Do the ATP’s agreements address ownership of my data after my data is transferred?

Data that is not anonymous belongs to the User who remains the sole owner at all times. The User has the right to share it, use it, request its download and deletion. The user understands and agrees that deletion and retrieval of Data that has been anonymized and integrated into the global aggregated data for analysis is not possible. A User has no ownership rights to Data that has been anonymized and integrated into global aggregated data.

3. If the ATP contracts with other companies to provide data related services, does the ATP require these companies to adhere to the ATP’s privacy policies with me?

When contracting with third parties who have access to AgConnexion's information or systems, the latter ensures that contracts clearly oblige suppliers to comply with provisions in terms of privacy, security and confidentiality which are at least as rigorous as the obligations incumbent on AgConnexion in this regard. In addition, we expect all third- party integration partners to comply with agricultural data transparency policies and/or comply with a similar set of rules and protocols for agricultural data transparency. If a third party does not comply with the previous points, the producer will be clearly notified by AgConnexion.

4. Will the ATP obtain my consent before providing other companies with access to my data?

You can choose to share your Data with designated third parties and AgConnexion can make the functionality available, allowing you to give them permission to access your data in AgConnexion. For each category of third party, if the functionality is accessible, you can choose to share all your agricultural data or a category in particular; for example, you can only allow access to your billing information. You can stop sharing your agricultural data with any of the designated persons at any time by withdrawing their authorization in the AgConnexion platform.

AgConnexion will not share your agricultural data with anyone without your consent.

5. After I upload data to the ATP, will it be possible to retrieve my original complete dataset in an original or equivalent format?

On request, the User may request the deletion of non-anonymized Data and/or request to recover its non-anonymized Data, which may be provided within a reasonable time in a generally recognized format.

6. Will the ATP notify me when its agreements change?

We will notify our customers / members of any changes to our data usage agreements when entering the AgConnection portal.

7. Will the ATP notify me if a breach of data security occurs that causes disclosure of my data to an outside party?

We will notify the parties by email or to the best of our ability to notify members or customers of any data breach or security breach. We will also apply the laws and rules in force in the province or the country.

8. Upon my request, can my original dataset be deleted when my contract with the ATP terminates?

If the User demands such a request, it will be possible to delete their initial data set. However, it is not possible to delete data that has been anonymized and integrated into the global data set for analysis.

9. Do the ATP’s agreements establish how long my original datasets will be retained?

The data of our customers will be accessible until a request for deletion is requested.

10. Do the ATP’s agreements address what happens to my data if the ATP is sold to another company?

There is no proposal to sell AgConnexion or its components to another company, but in the case of this eventuality, you will be notified by AgConnexion and will have the possibility to delete or withdraw your agricultural data before the sale. All companies that provide services to AgConnexion, having access to your agricultural data, will be required to comply with this policy as well as the Privacy Policy and the Security Policy.
