2. Categories of Ag Data Collected

What categories of data does the data platform collect?  

  • Agronomic Data.

  • Land Data.

  • Livestock Data.

The section on data collection in our privacy policy explains that the information collected consists of data that is necessary to prepare your AEFP or for other agroenvironmental counseling services for which we have been mandated, including:

a) soil and soil analyses;

b) cropped fields, including soil work, drainage, soil conservation methods and soil erosion, and topography;

c) crops, including seed varieties, yield, disease, and spreading of fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides;

d) livestock, including type and number of heads, and manure production;

e) watershed and relevant geospatial data. 

All data used for our services (preparing the AEFP, amongst others) are stored and followed in the Logiag systems.

3. Ownership

Do the tech company’s agreements with the user address ownership of user data? 

No. We believe that control of data is more important than ownership. We therefore have chosen to explicit in our policy that you control who can access your data, rather than to address ownership of the data.

4. Transparency in Aggregation

Does the tech company allow the user to opt out of inclusion in anonymized and aggregated datasets that are accessible by other users? 

No. LogiAg’s Privacy Policy does not address aggregated data.

5. Vendor Access to Data

Does the tech company require outside contractors that have access to user data to follow the tech company’s data policies? 

No. According to our policy, all third party service providers retained to expedite the Service offered, to offer the Service in our name, to provide other services related to the Service offered or to analyze the way in which our Service is used have access to your Personal Data for the sole purpose of performing these tasks in our name. It is strictly prohibited to share this data or to use it for any other purpose.   

We do not, however, require that these providers and subcontractors adhere the same policies as we do.

6. Consent

Does the tech company obtain a user’s consent before sharing user data with third parties? (E.g. integrations, government and others)

Yes. The section of our policy regarding service providers states that personal data will be transmitted to third parties exclusively after your explicit consent has been given.

7. Consent

By signing up, does the user give the tech company the right to sell aggregated data to third parties without obtaining further consent?

Yes. LogiAg’s Privacy Policy does not address aggregated data.

8. Portability 

Does the tech company maintain an original copy of user data that can be retrieved or deleted upon a user’s request? 

No. It is not possible to offer access to the original dataset with which you have provided us, nor is it possible to delete it from our database. Our policy stipulates that we cannot provide the complete dataset, even if explicitly requested.

9. Data Security

Will the tech company notify the user if a breach of data security causes disclosure of the user’s data to an outside party?  

Yes. The section of our policy regarding data security stipulates that you will be informed promptly should a security breach occur or be suspected.

10. Notice

Will the tech company notify the user when data agreements are changed and summarize how the agreements were changed? 

Yes. The section of our policy regarding modifications stipulates that should any modification occur, you will be notified by email and/or by mail when these changes take effect.

11. Changes in Company Ownership

Do the tech company’s data agreements address what happens to user data if the tech company is sold to another company?

No. Our policy does not address this.
