Starting the ADT Certification Pipeline

Your organization wants to build trust with your customers, assuring them that you are using their farm data in a transparent manner. Having third party confirmation that your data agreements live up to farmer expectations is a significant step you can take on the trust-building journey.

That’s where Ag Data Transparent comes in. Earning ADT certification to become a member and use our Seal of Approval is a tangible way to show your commitment to farmers. Members are committed to supporting the ADT by upholding the Core Principles and advocating for data transparency within their organization and in the agricultural industry.

To get the ADT Certification Pipeline ball rolling, an interested organization reaches out via our website.  A Master Service Agreement is signed by the potential member, and an invoice is sent to confirm interest and action.

“Ag Data Transparent is the industry’s only not-for-profit focused on providing transparency, simplicity and trust between farmers and their ag tech providers, and as a not-for-profit, the certification fee is how we fund the program,” Todd Janzen, ADT Administrator, says.

The certification fee is based on company’s sales, working to be affordable for companies at all stages of their start up and growth.

    • Small and Startup Companies: $2,500 (<$5 Million in annual revenue)

    • Medium-sized Companies: $5,000 (>$5 Million in annual revenue but less than $100 Million)

    • Large Companies: $7,500 (Annual sales greater than $100 Million)

Once certified, companies pay an annual renewal fee which is currently one-half of the initial fee. This engagement helps the organization continue to do outreach and education.

With this step complete, it is time for Step 2 – to be covered in our next article.
